Immortals infused with one or two types of Phase Magic. They inherit phase affinity, but their only innate ability is summoning wings for flight. In order to wield their phase magic, they must partner with a Starborne and together create a Talisman. The Windborne must be in physical contact with their talisman in order to cast.
When their wings are folded into the Spirit Realm, Windborne are not immediately distinct from Humans. However, upon closer inspection, their eye color is slightly inhuman, and their hair carries an unnatural tint.
Tradition states that only sixty-four were originally created by the Celestials, but since their magic is hereditary, they have grown in number over the generations. They are most commonly found in Harmura and Shinra, but have also radiated outwards into the Continental Mainland.
Their magic pushes them towards certain instinctive behaviors, creating five primary types of Windborne that have access to just one Phase Magic. Those who have access to two show blended instincts that reflect their magical makeup.

Population density of Windborne
Four in five Immortals are Windborne. They are most prevalent in the Peninsula of Harmura, accounting for 16% of the total population. They cluster strongly in centers of governance and tend to occupy entire villages.
Cultural tendencies of Windborne
With access to flight, Windborne have a natural affinity for being outdoors and in the sky. Their architecture, routines, and even social rituals tend to cluster around rooftops, terraces, ridgelines, and any place where a person can step into the sky without asking permission.
They have a shared history of believing they were anointed by Celestials to be the servant class of the Starborne, and part of the ruling class over Humans. How this manifests in their interactions with others depends on their type.
