Immortals

A being whose body is infused with

. This allows them to age to maturity, and then continue to age so slowly that their finite limit is unknown. They heal quickly, are immune to disease, and only seem to die from injuries incompatible with life.

The population density of
Immortals

is unevenly distributed. They are most prevalent in the
Peninsula of Harmura

, accounting for roughly 20% of the total population. Small towns may have no immortal presence at all, while cities and centers of governance may be dominated by immortals.
There is also high prevalence of immortals in the

Overall, they are located in less than 15% of the habitable land of the planet, but they continue to spread with each generation.

Birthrate of Immortals

They generally have one live birth per 50 to 100 years if they are having regular unprotected sex.

Lifespan of Immortals

Immortals don’t die of age or disease, but they can die from accidents, murders, and war. Different types of careers will have different death rates. Summary:
  • Elite: 300-1000 years
  • Civilians: 200-600 years
  • Soldiers: 50-300 years
Calculation: 1/% chance of death = mean lifespan

Soldier immortals
  • Peaceful year: 0.2% chance of death
  • Combat year: 2% chance of death
  • If the soldiers are in combat 10% of the time:
    • Mean lifespan: 263 years
    • Median lifespan: 182 years

Civilian immortals
These are the average people living their lives.
  • Peaceful year: 0.3% chance of death
  • Mean lifespan: 333 years
  • Median: 231 years

Elite immortals
The baseline “accident risk” drops, but “assassination/coup risk” rises. Elites are protected from random hazards but attract targeted hazards.
  • Stable regions: 0.05% chance of death per year
    • Mean lifespan: 2000 years
    • Median lifespan: 1386 years
  • Coup-prone regions: 0.2% chance of death per year
    • Mean lifespan: 500 years
    • Median lifespan: 346 years
