Hanna of the Quiet Villages

Hanna grew up in a hidden village deep within the human territories—small, poor, and fiercely unnoticed by the war. The people there endured not by fighting, but by vanishing. Her world was made of quiet sacrifice: planting when the soil allowed, hiding when soldiers came, grieving silently and then moving on.
From a young age, she became the heart of her village. She read to the infirm and the elderly when their eyes could no longer see. She taught the younger children how to dance in circles by the fire. Her laughter was soft and warm, the kind that made hard days bearable. There was no luxury in her life, but there was love.
When Zudaeshi’s raiders came, it wasn’t some noble lineage they captured. It was the girl who danced with children and whispered stories to the dying. The girl who didn’t fight, but lived—and that was enough to make her dangerous.
