While it may seem counterintuitive (often read as passive, feminine, or yielding), Hexagram 2 represents the power that supports structure and receives the imprints of domination. In corrupted hands, this energy becomes compliance demanded of others—and authority masquerading as order. In Malric’s sadistic lens, he becomes the “Earth that swallows,” the dungeon where screams go to die. He casts himself as the inevitable, the inescapable, the receptive force that others must yield to. This also contrasts hauntingly with Mulsae’s true embodiment of Hexagram 1 (pure creative force). Malric wants to be the one who responds—twistedly—to that creative principle by learning to "receive" the skills of torture and power from the master. Shadow reading: The corrupted Earth archetype becomes servitude demanded, rigid hierarchy, and sadism masked as divine order. It embodies “I am the floor you fall to. You will bow, and you will be reshaped in my dark.”
